HonourSG Leaders' Forum 2023
Reflections from attending the Honour Singapore (HonourSG) Leaders Forum alongside fellow youths.
It was truly an honour to be invited to the Honour Singapore (HonourSG) Leaders’ Forum. Attending this meaningful event alongside fellow youths was an eye-opening experience, providing us with the opportunity to better understand the qualities and success factors of effective leaders.
One of the key takeaways from the session was the idea of “leadership by influence, not by authority”, shared by guest speaker Ms Ai Chiat Wong. She provided valuable insights into leadership within the field of human resources and shared perspectives on fostering strong, collaborative teams working towards a common purpose.
In addition, it would not have been an HonourSG event without the wisdom and guidance of Mr Lim Siong Guan and his team. Their sharing emphasised the importance of understanding one’s value within society and explored concepts such as transcendence through Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, encouraging youths to contribute meaningfully to the community around them.
As youths, we aspire to support and empower one another in our professional development, leadership growth, and entrepreneurial journeys. HonourSG continues to serve as a strong source of inspiration and aspiration for many of us.
